“Johnny, the job is done! Lincoln, Jester, four others, all gone. Squashed, like flies. Ephraim… Ephraim has cut off the head of the Kisingo regime. Now it is for the King to take back our country, to restore it.”

That's what Zee said, but I'm not sure she understood the full implication of her words.

You see, I think Johnny might have been right when he tried, rather too forcibly, to persuade Zee to admit that the King was behind Ephraim's plot. As Derek Weaver said, Zee was like Leila: they'd tried to make sure she knew as little as possible.

There are too many incidents that need explaining. How did the L115A1 get into the country? Ephraim would have had the devil of a job smuggling it in, but the army, which the King controlled, could have brought it in easily. Also, somebody was looking after Kali, and hiding him in the right spot ready for Johnny to use. Lindi's ability to shoot so well, apparently without any training: Johnny noticed it. Lindi's golfing skills: how on earth did a receptionist at the Perewa palace learn to play golf - to such a high standard? The two fit young men who caddied for Lindi and Johnny: 'our' people, according to Zee. And, finally, the helicopter: where did Ephraim conjure that from?
